Holy Ghost Baptism & Power (An Obtainable Feat)

This post is for you if you’ve been baptised into Christ by the Holy Ghost (Had Salvation experience) and you’ve been baptised in the Holy Ghost by Christ Himself (Matthew 3:11,Mark 1:8,Luke 3:16 & John 1:33) with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and you don’t feel like you have power yet.

[NIV] Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

[NLT] Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The scripture above boldy states that you have power even though you don’t feel like it yet, you are living, breathing, walking, powerhouse. You don’t just realise it yet.

From Physics (Mechanics/Electricity & Magnetism)

Energy, simply put, is the ability to do work (IVT)

Power is the rate of doing work (IVT/T)

Thus, power is the rate of energy transferred per time (IV)

NOTE: The Keywords here include; Power, Energy and Work (Feeling is not there)

Irrespective of how you feel (elated or sad), it will not stop you from having a shocking experience when you touch (by accident or intentional) an 11KVA live wire.

That being said, power if generated and not put to good use (work) will get dessipated right?

So HOW DO YOU (practically) GENERATE (that) POWER (in your daily living) AFTER YOU’D RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Through fervent prayer backed by an understanding of God’s Word and also praying extensively in [other] tongues.

[AMP] James 5:16 The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

[KJV] Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

I would suggest that you start by praying non-stop (in other tongues only) for at least 30 minutes though 60 minutes would be a good (recommended) start then step it up from there.

Evidence suggest that anything you do consistently for 21 days becomes a habit (Google it 👍). Do this until it becomes a good habitual practice. I can assure you that you will learn and discover several other benefits in the process until you get to a peak where you’ll realise that you’re now uttering some prophetic declaration concerning issues of life, people or certain things.

I can bet you that those utterances are very prophetic and ladened with divine power to fulfillment…

Being a Witness of Jesus (Preparation of the Gospel of Peace)

As earlier stated, power is meant to accomplish something (effective work) and the work here is witnessing from your very own Jerusalem (Family), to your Judea (neighbourhood), Samaria (Workplace, etc.) and other spheres and walk of life…

The Gospel does not attract the power of God, the Gospel does not simulate the power of God, The GOSPEL IS THE POWER OF GOD (personified).

[KJV] Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

With all the power and spiritual manifestations you would have experienced from following step one above, you might not or would not feel any different from the previous you. I actually felt disappointed because I consciously or unconsciously assumed I’d appear/feel like one named Lord Raiden in Mortal Kombat or The Flash, Thor and similar characters of Marvel Comics (Don’t laugh please) But it does not work like it’s sketched in manga or shown in motion pictures.

So the litmus-test to convince your very seat of logic (head) and your heart (emotions) that you’re a power house is by witnessing. God is a very faithful God. He will always prove Himself to be God wherever His Word is preached. He will never let His Word fall to the ground.

[KJV] Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

[NIV] Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

[NLT] Mark 16:20 And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

Your head (logic) will be flabberwhemled and overgasted with the divers miracles, signs and wonders that will follow whenever and wherever you stand to be a witness.

This is because God does not need your ability, He only needs your availability (empty vessels). He will not call for those that are qualified, He qualifies those He calls.

Remain blessed as you become an accredited agent and authorised dispenser of God’s tremendous power for every good works in your daily living.

Prayer: A Spirit-Spirit Intercourse (The Fellowship of Spirits)

…We live within time, but God (being a spirit-being John 4:24) lives outside of time. So time itself only exist on this side of eternity (Earth)…

Prayer is one of the most tasking (physically and mentally demanding) spiritual exercise for mankind. I’m sure you could relate with that already.

It comes so easy to sing since it appeals to your emotion, read (not necessarily study/meditate on) the bible because your Pastor will ask you “If you did/didn’t?” and “Where you read/why not?” and other reasons…, but finding the time to pray (in your closet), It’s a real civil war you’d have to fight.

It’s no big deal to attend musical concerts, praise night, and the likes for the reason above. The attendance in the yearly THE EXPERIENCE held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos also confirms that. But for a prayer submit and the likes, the attendance most times would be the exact opposite for a similar musical concert.

But how do one learn how to do something? It’s by doing it anyway. The only way to learn how to sing is by singing anyway. The only way to learn how to run is not by watching sprinters nor thinking like one, but by actually doing the running yourself. The only way to learn how to read books is by reading books and same principle applies to learning how to pray. Evidence suggests that you have mastery for any task when you do it for 10,000 hours (Google it 😜).

Prayer is a spiritual exercise… You are communicating with God (A Spirit being. John 4:24) by your own spirit through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26,27) living on the inside of you (I Corinthians 6:19).

Simply put, prayer is a spirit-spirit Intercourse /interaction /inter-phase /affair /exchange /transaction /venture /conference /meeting /synchronisation /super-impose…  etc. A (your own) spirit talking to The Spirit (God) and The Father of all Spirits (Hebrew 12:9) talking back.

Initially, when you finally resolve to praying, just a small 5 minutes prayer could seem as though eternity (forever). But when you pray long enough (especially in other tongues than in your understanding), humanity gives way for divinity… 5 hours prayer would seem as though just 5 minutes and you just don’t want to stop (leave His Presence) and from your belly flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-39). Then you’d say like Brother Peter at the Mount of Transfiguration “Lord let us kuku ma dey abide here kwa” (Paraphrased).

The reason for this is because in the realm of the Father of Spirits, a thousand years is but a day and thus 40 years (on this side of eternity) is but an hour (Marvin Sapp’s You Are God Alone,Diary of A Psalmist Album)…

So one thing that’s needful is transcending the humanity for divinity where there’s divine algorithm for time compression, leaving the outer and inner courts of God to the very Holy of Holies (Throne Room)… Having communion/fellowship with the father like it was at Eden.

In that room you have Access (top /level 5 clearance) to divine secrets (highly classifieds) of God (I Corinthians 2:6-14). Having answers to every questions and prayers, receiving directions for your next move, who to marry, where to work… You can never be confused as to what choice to make, what next to be done etc.

You can’t bow before The Father of Spirits and also bow before men No way! The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. (James 5:16B AMP)

There is a funny saying among contemporary Yoruba speakers that “ina buruku lo n se buredi jina” and my prefered interpretation as “The intensity of the vigorous heat speaks volume for a daily functional bakery” meaning the magnitude of God’s Presence (Power and Glory) you carry will speak louder than your voice/effort in every areas of your endeavors (Vibes).

Learn to tarry long enough in His Presence to being a daily carrier of His Glory. It’s the greatest assets you could ever possess on this side of eternity that’s of eternal value. Never rush in/out of His Presence, wait for The Father of Spirits to talk back to you.  It’s not a one-way thing. Talk to Him and wait until He gives you a reply through His Spirit to your own spirit.

Remain blessed as you continually kindle the altar of prayer in your #WarRoom friends

The Love Triangle

(A love story written by Oyekunle Lizzy Oyebola)

Jude was the first and last boyfriend I ever had before I got married to James.

We were so into each other that every one that saw us together thought we were going to end up together.

We were emotionally tied, we were academically tied and as accountants in the professional field, we were professionally tied too!

We ran the race of ICAN, ANAN and other accounting professional courses together.

He knew too well that being a carreer woman had been my aim since the start. I had wanted to practise on my own although working with a good firm before starting mine wasn’t that a bad idea.

I got married to James by divine intervention because along the way, I met Christ and He led me to my BEST!

One day, the day I will never forget, I was shopping at the Men’s section of Eko Mall when my phone rang and my husband asked me to meet him outside.

He was supposed to be at work!

I saw him close to his Lexus jeep but with a friend I had not seen in like five years of our marriage- Jude!

My crush! My first love!

My heart craved for that special hug that he always gave me then. His warm, masculine hug!

“Jude!” I exclaimed happily and I really couldn’t hide my joy as he came close to me.

“Can I?” He asked my husband as he stretched his hands to hug me.

“C’mon. My hubby aint a jealous man. Hug me!” I was almost screaming when he nit only hugged me but swirled me up in the air while I screamed for him to put me down.

It was awesome and thrilling!

He just knew how to make my heart burst open with pleasurable excitement!

After exchanging pleasantries, I went to my husband’s side and he smiled at me lovingly as he pecked me.

His smile could calm a stormy sea!…hehehehe

“I met him at the park and he said he wants to see you so badly that I had to trace you here wifey” My husband said and I smiled.

I turned to look at Jude.

He was looking all fresh and well fed. There was no sign of the economic melt down on him at all.

“Erm, I am now the Accountant General of Pearls Agency, Worldwide” He said sweetly, slightly licking his lower pink lip.

“What!” I exclaimed after my heart had stopped beating for a while

That had been my dream agency!…Either Pearls or my own establishment!

I had submitted my CV severally to the company to no avail and James had told me that I should pray on to God to open doors for him so he could set me up. I had been trying on my part too anyways.

But its been five years and nothing had happened!

“The company needs a chartered accountant to occupy the post of a senior accountant 1 and I had searched and searched for your contact details to no avail…until I jumped into our bros today” He said and I was excited.

Was he going to choose me?

My heart raced on.

“Would you mind taking the post on? You have lots and lots of benefits. You and I would have enough time to cruise the whole world on a professional spree! We would achieve a lot together…You and I…” he kept on saying and I smiled, being carried away by his pink lips.

I turned to look at James and he was still looking at me, smiling as he knew how to do best.

“Don’t mind him o. Very naughty guy he is!” I said to James and the latter smiled, still looking into my face

“Do you want the job? Just a phone call from my end would give you the job. Just say yes!”

I was shocked and awed at the same time!

Was that supposed to be a blank cheque or something?

I was getting my desires on a platter of gold?

As I was processing how to give a resounding yes in my head, I heard it so calm and cool and the whole wide world stood still for a while.

“No! She doesn’t want the job!” James said and just like the slow motion in Korean movies, I slowly shifted my neck from Jude and looked into my husband’s cool face.

He looked so serious as he looked at James and he smiled as he looked at me.

“I wasn’t asking you Mr. James. I know men like you never want their wives to be better than them. I was asking Emmy. Emerald, for the last time, do you want the job? I will take your last answer for it” He said, looking so furious as if my husband had drawn the battle line.

And really he seemed to have!

Why would my husband say no?

He knew so well that I had loved this job more than anything else. He had prayed with me as regards it too.

What is he saying now?

I turned to look at James again as Jude gave his last opportunity.

James’ smile had melted and he looked from Jude to me and smiled a bit.

“Wifey, I love you and respect you alot and I know its reciprocal. The decision is yours to make although my answer remains no!” He said and shook his head slightly and moved to enter the jeep.

I was in a dilemma!

What exactly did I want?

But, was James really going mad? Was he? How could he choose what he feels over what I like? Why?

I looked into Jude’s face and he was smiling broadly.

I was confused and closed my eyes for a while till all I could see was stark darkness! Till I couldn’t hear the sound of the cars passing, till the only sound I could audibly hear was the sound of my heartbeat.

Lord, speak!

And slowly, I turned from my ambition, my first love, my past and walked towards the jeep where my husband was!

My husband jumped out of the car and started running towards me, smiling gleefully.

“She chose me! Just me! Yes, she chose me! I told him you might have been with him for years and all but your heart now longs for me, only me! He said we should see if the job and his fresh look wouldn’t make you go with him! He challenged me! He asked for a test! He asked for a test darling and I didn’t want to do it but I told him I would do it for him to see my wife’s submission to His will! Then, you listened to Him! YOu did!”

When did my husband become a talkative?

My face was already wet with tears as he spoke.

I had series of goosebumps as he spoke to me.

“Does it mean, there is no Pearl Agency Worldwide anywhere?” I asked and my husband held my hands together and smiled deeply.

“Nothing like that! It was a test! An expensive test! I thank God you passed! You chose me!” he continued excitedly and swirled me into the air too for the first time.

But I wasn’t smiling at all!

I was pained in my heart!

I had not passed the test really!…I had chosen the whole juice, pleasurable offer over James…I had!

Only speaking to God made me choose the best!

Tears clouded my eyes again!

Oh how he vouched for me!

Oh how he trusted I wouldn’t fail him!

Oh how!…

I wept on and on.

He dropped me to the ground, disregarded my tears and pulled me to the jeep. He opened the door and brought out a brown envelope from his briefcase. He opened and some photos fell. He picked them and hid them under the envelope while he unfolded a very long white paper.

I waited anxiously.

“This is it. I had started working on it..see..” he said as he showed me the paper works that I couldn’t comprehend. He noticed my confusion and folded the paper.

“See these” he said as he handed the photos to me and I collected them

A very big uncompleted building

“What’s this?” I asked

“Emerald Initiatives PLC building under construction!” He said excitedly and tears just jumped out of their ducts in quick succession out of my eyes!

“You’ve been working on that behind my back?” I asked in utter shock, falling further into fits of cries

“I’d always be working for my queen to be the best. Best among the best and gladly, she is just so submissive to love little me. Chai, the love has just began!” He helped me enter the jeep and planted a quick kiss on my tear stained lips.

Oh wait wait wait!

Yeah, I am here again to stop the story from going further till we have learnt what God wants us to learn.

1. Jude is the devil, James is Jesus! We dated Jude in the past and had lots and lots of sinful pleasures but now married to Jesus, we say bye!

2. Jude had been a lookout for Emerald even though she was married. Why now? Well, the defeated foe is forever doomed and he doesn’t want to go to hell alone. He is on the lookout for you and I no matter how long or how not long you became married to Jesus!

3. Jude was even courting Emerald stylishly in the presence of her husband! What audacity! Well, does that evil guy care? No he doesn’t! He can bring temptation anywhere to us, even in the church! Beware!

4. James was not going to talk too much. No is no. if you seek for any other option, that is now left to you. That is the same way God says He has set life and death before us. He thereafter urges us to choose life!

5. Jude was only testing Emerald to see her level of devotion and commitment to James over her ambitions and goals in life. If there is a chance for us to choose between what we loved doing most and God, sincerely, what would be our choices?

6. James didn’t drive off even after he had told her to do her wish. He stood right there in the jeep waiting for her. Even in temptation and trials of faith when God seems silent, He actually is there, waiting and sincerely wishing that YOU CHOOSE HIM!

7. Emerald closed her eyes in prayers while in dilemma. She was confused as she weighed the pros and cons. Who is our first port of call when we are in a triangle?

8. She also closed her eyes, mind, all, till nothing else mattered but His sure voice alone! Do we seek to listen at all? Do we? Above all the noise around, do we seek His voice?

9. Emerald chose to follow God’s will for her life. What about you? Have you sincerely waved at all pleasures and wants that are not in accordance with His will? Have you?

10. James jumped to his feet with joy as he was the chosen one! When next you are tempted, remember the smile of God that can calm the raging sea and chose right. You wouldn’t want that smile turn to frown, would you? He would run to hug you. Ask the prodigal son if he didn’t run. God runs to welcome a straying sheep.

11.Emerald was not going to be an employee! She was being designed to be a boss! Thank goodness she didn’t settle for less. What about you? You wanna settle for less than God?

(Poetry by the late Chief J.F. Odunjo, renowned Yoruba playwright, poet, politician, and statesman – from one of his popular Alawiye series.)

To’ju iwa re, ore mi,

Enhance your character, my friend,

Prosperity could depart from one’s home,

And beauty could retreat from people’s bodies.

Today’s rich could become poor tomorrow,

Opulence is like ocean’s surfs; it is like ocean’s waves,

They come and go from one’s home as they please;

But, only good character follows one to the grave,

Money is not everything to anyone.

Good character is the beauty of a mortal,

What if you are wealthy without good character?

Who would trust you with something serious?

Perhaps, you are a gorgeous woman,

If you are far from societal norms,

Who would marry you as a wife?

Or you are a fraudulent person,

May be you are well educated;

Who would transact business with you?

Enhance your character, my friend,

In the absence of character, education is a waste;

The whole world appreciates a well-mannered person.

10 Tips On How to Remain Broke

1. Never wake up early. Keep stretching and turning in bed until you get too hungry to continue dozing. If there are no bed bugs, why hurry to get up?
2. Never plan how to spend your money.  Whenever you get money, start spending it right away and when it’s finished, you try to count and recall how you spent it.

3. Don’t think of saving until you have real big money. How can you save when you earn so little? Those telling you to save are not sympathetic to your burning needs.

4. Don’t engage in activities usually reserved for the “uneducated”. How can you, a graduate, engage in petty trade, network marketing or home-based production? That’s for people who never went to school!

5. Don’t think of starting a business until an angel comes from heaven and gives you capital. How do they expect you to invest before you get millions? Even though more than half the businesses in your town were started with little capital, you as a smart person can only start with millions.

6. Complain about everything except your own attitude and laziness. Blame the system, the government and the banks that refused to lend you money. They are all bad and do not want you to get rich.

7. Spend more than you earn. To achieve this, buy consumer products on credit and keep borrowing from friends and employers.

8. Compete in dressing. Make sure you’re wearing the latest clothes. Intimidate the congregation with your trendy fashions every Sunday. Whenever your neighbour buys a new phone, you get one that is more expensive.

9. Get yourself a nice second hand car that costs more than three times your yearly salary.

10. Give your children everything they ask for since you’re such a loving parent. They should not struggle for anything because you do not want them to suffer. Let them know nothing about delaying gratifications

Will You Finish Strong for Christ?

Just about everybody has heard of Billy Graham, but what about Chuck Templeton? What about Bron Clifford? Have you ever heard of them? Did you know that they were also packing our auditoriums in 1945 when Billy Graham first preached to large crowds? I want to share with you some thoughts prompted by Pastor Tommy Barnett of Phoenix. All three of these young men rose to prominence in their middle twenties. One seminary president, after hearing Chuck Templeton – a brilliant, dynamic preacher – called him the most gifted, talented young preacher in America. Templeton and Graham became very close friends. They started preaching together with the Youth For Christ organization. Most observers thought that Templeton would be the one who would go to the top. One magazine wrote a feature article calling Templeton the “Babe Ruth of evangelism”.

Bron Clifford was another gifted, young fireball evangelist. Many believed that Clifford was the most gifted powerful preacher to come up in the church for many centuries. People lined up for hours to hear him preach. When he went to Baylor University to give a discourse, they actually cut the ropes off the bells of the tower. They wanted nothing to interfere with his preaching. For two and one half-hours the students of Baylor sat on the edges of their seats as he gave a dissertation on “Christ and the Philosopher’s Stone.” At age 25, Clifford touched more lives, influenced more leaders and set more attendance records that any other clergyman in American history. National leaders vied for his attention. He was tall, handsome, dashing, sophisticated and intelligent. Hollywood actually tried to cast him in the lead role for the famous movie, “The Robe”. He seemed to have everything.

Graham, Templeton, and Clifford launched out of the starting blocks like Olympic gold medallists in 1945. Why haven’t you heard of Chuck Templeton or Bron Clifford? The answer might surprise you.

By 1950 Templeton had left the ministry. He pursued a radio career. He became an announcer and a newscaster, telling the world that he no longer believed Jesus Christ was the Son of God. He became an atheist. By 1950, this future Babe Ruth of preaching was not even in the ball game!

By 1954 Clifford had lost his family, ministry and health. Eventually he lost his life because of addiction to alcohol. Financial irresponsibility left his wife and their two Downs syndrome children penniless. This once famous preacher dies of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 35 in a rundown hotel on the edge of Amarillo, Texas. He died a pitiful, dishonorable and unsung death. Some pastors from Amarillo, Texas got together and collected enough money to buy a cheap casket. They shipped his body back to the East Coast, where he was buried in a pauper’s cemetery.

In 1945 all three of these men with extraordinary gifts were preaching for the purpose of multiplying the church by thousands of people. But within 10 years only one of them was still on track for Christ.

In Christian life it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish! A recent survey shocked me; it reported that only one out of ten who start in ministry at the age of 21 serve the Lord to age 65. They fall away from ministry due to immorality, pride, discouragement, liberal theology and a love for wealth and the things of this world. Here is my question to you today –
